KNEC opens applications for assessors of oral, practical KCSE exams

By |

KNEC is recruiting 2024 exam assessors who are 50 years old or younger and have a minimum of a diploma in education or specific fields.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is recruiting secondary school teachers and college tutors to assess this year's oral and practical KCSE examinations.

The exercise from May 1 to July 30 will hire teachers to examine tests in music, power mechanics, electricity, aviation technology and languages including French, German, Arabic and the Kenyan sign language.

“The slots are limited and only qualified applicants who have presented all the required documents will be shortlisted for the exercise,” the council said in a notice announcing the opening of the recruitment.

Individuals already in the KNEC database of assessors need not apply.

Successful candidates must be practising teachers of the subjects listed, 50 years old or younger and have a minimum of a diploma in education or specific fields.

They must also be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or any recognised professional body and have at least three years of teaching experience.

Applicants must also have the recommendations of their heads of institutions or employers and must not be under any disciplinary action or interdiction by their employer.

For aviation technology candidates, KNEC said, a diploma in aeronautical engineering is required.

Applications will be submitted via the KNEC examiners' portal at https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke.

Those without accounts must create them and follow the instructions to acquire login credentials to access the system.

Applicants who have forgotten their passwords can reset them by clicking the "reset password" button and entering their mobile number in the format (2547********).

Upon successful login, the applicant should complete their profile and save it. On the dashboard, clicking on the 'Apply' button will present options to choose from.  =

The rehearsal for the 2024 KCSE exams will take place on Friday, October 18. The tests will officially begin on Tuesday, October 22 and end on November 22.
