Afnaan Homes has commenced the construction of the Kawaakib Residence on Iregi Road in Parklands, Nairobi.

Afnaan Homes Director Adan Awil told The Eastleigh Voice that the project would be completed in record time and that some units had already been purchased.

“This project will take 24 months. Five have already gone by, so only 19 are remaining,” Adan told the launch event in Eastleigh, Nairobi, on Sunday, adding that the target market extends beyond Eastleigh residents to include Kenyans elsewhere and those in the diaspora.

Both Adan and chairman Abdullahi Mohamed expressed satisfaction with the launch, describing it as a success.

Kawaakib Residence is set to become a notable addition to Parklands, offering modern living spaces with essential amenities.

“The building will have a mosque, gym, swimming pool, and all the social amenities needed,” Abdullahi said, adding that there would also be a Quranic school and assuring the high quality promised in advertisements.

Kamukunji Member of Parliament Yusuf Hassan, the chief guest at the launch, praised the government for creating a conducive environment for investment and living.

He compared Nairobi favourably to other cities such as Johannesburg, London, Islamabad, and New York, noting that house prices in the Kenyan capital appreciate rather than depreciate.

“The prices of homes in Nairobi do not depreciate,” he told guests, who included political leaders and community members.

The number of property developers in Nairobi has been rising, and last month, stakeholders formed an association in Nairobi to help them speak with one voice and address key issues, all to support the sector's success.
