The BBS Mall in Eastleigh, Nairobi, is an inspiring show of architectural prowess, Dadaab legislator Farah Maalim said Sunday during a two-hour tour with his Wajir South counterpart Mohammed Adow.

Farah noted the ingenuity behind the creation of the biggest mall in Eastern and Central Africa, stating that it deserves celebration across the continent.

"This magnificent piece of architecture is mind-blowing. Our country is undoubtedly cruising on a fast lane in development terms," said the former National Assembly Speaker.

The veteran legislator, who was first elected to the National Assembly in 1992, also expressed admiration for Somali entrepreneurs, highlighting their crucial roles in shaping the economic and social fabric of the country.

He underscored the potential for these entrepreneurs to drive sustainable development and contribute significantly to Kenya's prosperity and progress, further pointing out that the Eastleigh neighbourhood is undeniably advancing rapidly in terms of development.

"An entrepreneurial spirit, inherent potential, and innovation are powerful forces for positive change and growth. They are catalysts for positive change and economic growth across the continent," he said.

The MPs also met BBS Mall Chairman Maalim Weli and interacted with shoppers at the establishment.

"Having known Maalim Weli for several decades. I can attest that he is a rare gem," Farah said.

BBS Mall is the only one in Kenya with extensive parking facilities, fortified security measures, and an uninterrupted 24-hour supply of water and electricity, supported by advanced generators.

The mall transforms the vibrant Eastleigh trading hub, offering a touch of grandeur and cleanliness. Featuring international brands like Giordano, Linton's Beauty World, KFC, Pizza Hut, Galito's, and Artcaffe, the mall provides a diverse shopping and dining experience.

It has more than 10 banks, 20 restaurants, 1,500 parking slots, hospitals, and cinema halls.
