New ministers appointed as Somalia PM makes cabinet reshuffle

Ahmed Moallim Fiqi was named Somalia's Minister of Foreign Affairs in a cabinet reshuffle announced by the Office of the Somali Prime Minister Sunday morning.

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre announced a significant cabinet reshuffle early Sunday morning, appointing new ministers to key positions in the Federal Government of Somalia.

Ahmed Moallim Fiqi was named Somalia's Minister of Foreign Affairs in a cabinet reshuffle announced by the Office of the Somali Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, Ali Hoosh has been appointed Interior Minister, while Abdullahi Fartaag has been handed the Internal Security docket.

Cali Yuusuf Xoosh has been appointed Minister of Interior and Reconciliation, tasked with addressing the country's internal security challenges.

The appointment of General Abdullahi Fartaag as Minister of Internal Security showcases his expertise in the role.

Abdullahi Bidhaan Warsame has been appointed Minister of Energy & Water, while Mohamed Aadan Macalin will lead the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.

The government has committed to addressing environmental challenges with the appointment of Ahmed Omar Mohamed as State Minister for Climate Change Adaptation, a newly created position.

Prime Minister Barre's cabinet reshuffle is considered a significant move to reinvigorate his government's efforts to address the country's security, economic, and environmental challenges.
