From Nairobi to the world's major cities, protests have surged, denouncing Israel's relentless airstrikes on Gaza and advocating for peace amid mounting civilian casualties. In Nairobi, Kenyans joined a solidarity vigil at the Palestine Embassy, emphasizing support for Gaza's residents enduring relentless bombardment.

Last night, hundreds of Kenyans gathered at the Palestine Embassy in Nairobi for a vigil in solidarity with the Palestinian people, the event was organised by Kenya Palestine Association. Hazem Shabat, the Palestinian Ambassador to Kenya, extended a warm welcome to the participants, including political, religious, civil society leaders, and human rights activists.

The protestors voiced their support for the residents of Gaza, who have been under siege by Israel for four weeks and subjected to continuous Israeli aerial bombardment.

The fervor has spread globally, with protests in Turkey, Canada, Mombasa, the United States, and beyond, demanding an end to the violence and a just resolution to the conflict. These demonstrations underscore a collective call for justice and adherence to international law, resonating across continents with renewed urgency. Civil society groups worldwide, alongside concerned citizens, are advocating for diplomatic interventions and sustainable peace efforts to de-escalate the situation. The protests amplify the plea for the initiation of meaningful peace negotiations, prioritizing dialogue and mutual understanding as essential pathways to resolution.

Recent developments have further amplified the gravity of the situation. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for immediate de-escalation, urging both sides to end the violence and protect civilians. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan condemned the airstrikes, emphasizing the need for a robust international response to protect Palestinian rights and ensure peace in the region.

Prominent religious leaders, including Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam of Egypt and Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis of the United Kingdom, voiced their concerns, calling for an end to the violence and a renewed commitment to meaningful dialogue. Rabbi Mirvis stressed, "The escalating violence in Gaza is an affront to the principles of peace and coexistence we hold dear. We must come together to find a lasting solution that respects the rights of all individuals."

As the world continues to grapple with the escalation of violence, the resounding message from protestors worldwide remains unwavering: the urgency of a peaceful resolution and a recognition of the Palestine State.
