Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Minister Musalia Mudavadi has commenced a three-day official visit to Beijing, China. This visit, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi, builds upon recent discussions between Kenya and China, particularly following President Ruto's state visit last October.

During that visit, President Ruto and President Xi Jinping exchanged views and reached key agreements on the future of bilateral relations. Arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport, Mudavadi received a warm welcome from Deputy Directors Yu Yong and Ms. Xu Benin of the Department of African Affairs, alongside Kenyan Ambassador Willy Bett.

Joining Mudavadi are Principal Secretary Dr. Abraham Korir Sing’Oei and Principal Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs Aurelia Rono, among other key officials. This visit underscores both nations' commitment to strengthening collaboration in crucial areas like trade, investment, labor, and security.

Mudavadi is scheduled to meet with senior Chinese government representatives, aiming to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries. China has consistently supported impactful infrastructure projects and economic sectors in Kenya, and this visit signifies the ongoing effort to solidify the bond between the two nations for mutual development.

A win-win partnership has been the cornerstone of their relations, leading to major cooperation projects like the Moi International Sports Center, the Standard Gauge Railway, the Expressway, and the Green Technology Center in Nairobi. China has also expressed support for Kenya's independent pursuit of a tailored modernization path.

Further demonstrating their commitment to collaboration, China has voiced readiness to work closely with Kenya on key initiatives like the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative.
