2023 KCSE result slips distributed to all schools - KNEC

Candidates who sat for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) can also collect their certificates.

Candidates who sat for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) have been urged to collect their results slips from their schools.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) said on Saturday that the documents have been distributed to all schools.

Additionally, candidates who sat for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) can also collect their certificates.

"The 2022 KCPE certificates and 2023 KCSE result slips have been sent to all schools that presented candidates for the examinations. Candidates and parents/guardians are therefore encouraged to visit their schools and collect the documents," reads a notice by the Council.

During the 2023 KCSE Examination, a total of 899,453 candidates sat for the Form 4 national exams.

Of the total, 1,216 candidates obtained an overall grade of A, including 825 males and 391 females.

Furthermore, 2,782 girls and 4,472 males received an A- on average, with 18,078 receiving a B+.

36,728 candidates received a B plain, 59,514 received a B-, and 78,343 received a C+.

Furthermore, 79,432 girls and 86,429 males received a D-, with 79,612 females receiving a D compared to 75,664 males. 66,032 females and 58,974 males also received a D+ rating.

However, 19,960 girls scored grade E, compared to 28,214 males.

During the 2023 KCSE Examination, 899,453 candidates took the form four national exams.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu said a total of 201,133 candidates qualified for the university set points.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that it will open its portal soon for the placement of students at various institutions.

"The online KUCCPS application portal will open soon for placement of students at universities, TVET institutions, KMTC, TTC, and OUK. KCSE class of 2023 and other form four leavers (KCSE 2000 to 2022)," reads a notice by the placement service.

Students have been urged to apply at the placement portal, student.kuccps.net.

Most students are expected to start their studies in September for their first semester.

However, institutions are expected to make an official announcement of opening dates once the placement is done.

Machogu directed KUCCPS to align their entry requirement with the new grading system, adding that the new system will allow more candidates to pursue courses of their choice at universities and colleges.

He also called for an aggressive campaign to sensitise students about university and college courses available for KCSE candidates.
